Question Blue spiral seen over Canada in mid 1800's?

Blue spirals have been seen in the skies on this planet over the last 3 years. One was seen on the 24th of March this year and in the comments for a video of the phenomenon on YouTube (Mysterious blue spiral spotted across Europe caused by SpaceX rocket), a Mr. Ed Whitson wrote the following: "There was a famous one in mid 1800s over Canada and many more around the world". Now, I just want to ask if anyone here knows anything more about this? Did the newspapers at the time write about it? What year, month and day was it? And all other relevant information.

We know about the 24 March event. I'm pretty sure an event from the 1800s has zero relationship to current events.
